Korman's shop is between me and some friends so I stop by to check on the build and see what they're up to with other cars. I'm never disappointed.

Here's my engine in mid build. Look at all those pretty new fasteners.

And my engine builder (I asked his favorite drink so I can bring him a bottle)

The car that stood out most to me was a Alfa Romeo Sprint Speciale in for restoration.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Its engine was on their in house dyno for testing (mine is going on there next).

One guy bought a E30 and loved it so much he bought a second to mod. It says 318is...but that's a E36 3.2L M3 motor and the car is sitting on a E36 M3 suspension

Round taillights 2002 getting a full restoration back to Inca Orange (you can see the original color in the wheel wells)

Back to mine, they said the engine should be in my car by next week, followed by a VERY specific break-in with different oils along the way. I LOVE how specific and exacting they are. They will be working on any new projects too complicated for me in the future.

Wow, I need to talk to these guys. My friend wants to supercharge his E91 (6mt too!) but with the ESS system being one of the only FI kits for the N52 most shops are reluctant.

i have the exact same filters on my carburetors

mine are solex's though they have a better powerband where they distribute the power more evenly than weber's but you have to be pretty lucky to find a nice set of solex's in good condition and even more lucky to find parts for them

Ok that's decided, I'm buying a 2002 Turbo as soon as possible once I arrive in Japan. Well it will probably be next summer but still. Completly out my budget, but fuck it, they are "a steal" there compared to the rest of the world, in better condition and with less mileage... 45K$ in a car (yeah, they are quite a bit cheaper in Japan), holy crap, never spent that much.... in anything actually lol :)

What car do you have in there? Judging by the company it keeps it that shop, it must be quite an interesting one.

They restored a 2002 turbo last year for a guy in Charlottesville, VA. I think he wanted to sell it at the time for $70k-ish, restored. Which seemed like a good deal.

Ah sick ride, I read about your troubles with the previous shop, but didn't realize it was the same author (been reading articles on Jalopnik forever, recently started checking oppo and began joining the conversations today), glad to hear you've found shop that deserves your business and the privilege of wrenching on such an awesome car.

this makes for a good sleeper, unless the engine noise blows the car's cover.

Yeah, in Japan, you can find some in absolutely PERFECT shape for less than 50k$, with less than 40.000miles. You understand why I'd be willing to break the piggy bank for that :)

This one has 36000 miles...
